WEST COLUMBIA, SC -- A new principal and three assistant principals have been announced for the 2019-20 school year.
The Lexington Two Board of Trustees has approved the following appointments, based on the recommendation of Superintendent Dr. William B. James Jr.:
Christopher Dickey will become principal at Congaree Elementary. Dickey most recently served as associate principal at Riverbank Elementary, which opened in August 2018, after serving as principal at BC Grammar No. 1. Dickey previously served in Cumberland County Schools and Johnston County Schools, both in North Carolina, and in Rock Hill District Three and Richland District Two before arriving in Lexington Two three years ago. The South Carolina native has a bachelor’s in education from Claflin University, a master’s in school administration from Fayetteville State University, and an Ed.S in educational administration from SC State University.
Angela Brown will become assistant principal at Congaree Elementary. She most recently served as assistant principal at Congaree-Wood Early Childhood Center, where she has worked since arriving in Lexington Two about four years ago. She previously was a teacher in Lexington One. She received a bachelor’s in elementary education and a master’s in administration, both from the University of South Carolina.
Melanie Yoder will become assistant principal at Wood Elementary. She most recently served as an instructional facilitator at Congaree-Wood Early Childhood Center, which will become part of Wood Elementary in the 2019-20 school year. She also was a teacher at Pineview Elementary and Springdale Elementary after joining Lexington Two in 2009. She received a bachelor’s in elementary education and a master’s in education administration, both from the University of South Carolina.
Kim Eubanks will become assistant principal at Riverbank Elementary. She most recently served as assistant principal at Congaree Elementary, as well as in the same position at Claude A. Taylor Elementary and jointly one year for both Taylor and George I. Pair Elementary. She previously taught in Berkeley County and Horry County school districts. She received a bachelor’s in elementary education and middle school social studies from the College of Charleston and a master’s in administration from The Citadel.
The new jobs will be effective July 1, 2019. The first day of classes for the 2019-20 school year is August 19.
