Artistically Gifted and Talented Nominations

We are now accepting nominations for the Artistically Gifted and Talented After-School Dance Program. Students who are currently in grades 3 through 5 are eligible to be nominated. Nominations will be accepted from teachers, administrators, and parents. Parents wishing to nominate their child for this program should e-mail Kim Eubanks at [email protected] no later than Monday, April 24, 2023. After being nominated, each student will receive a letter informing her/him of their required audition to be held on May 6, 2023. There are a limited number of spaces in the classes and the auditions will be competitive.

DANCE SCREENING GUIDELINES

The Student:
1. Volunteers to participate in classroom music/art activities and follows through effectively;
2. Can demonstrate an emotion, feeling, or situation (show “Today I am very happy.”) through
movement;
3. Shows coordination, strength, and flexibility in movements;
4. Moves and responds appropriately to verbal and musical cues;
5. Shows originality/creativity in day-to-day activities;
6. Uses facial expression, gesture, and movement to express feelings;
7. Shows interest in performing;
8. Is persistent in new learning.
